History of the Steirerschlössl
In the midst of the Murtal valley, in the center of the city Zeltweg and in close proximity to the Red Bull Ring, lies a true Art Nouveau jewel! The Hotel Steirerschlössl. But do you know ist history?
It was in 1908 when today's industrial goods group voestalpine in the middle of Zeltweg built a factory hotel for all em-ployees. All in the trendy Art Nouveau of the beginning of the 20th century! With its tavern, which was already called Steirerschlössl at the time, it served as well as accommodation for all employees of the company. From the simple worker to the management, who even had a ballroom available. In 1992, the building was listed as a protected monument and in 2002 it was finally incorporated into the hotel and restaurant family around the Red Bull Ring and lovingly renovated.
Much of the original equipment could not be obtained, so today the imposing wooden staircase leading to the first floor, is the only real witness of bygone times.
The motto for the renovation was: the entire hotel, which today houses one of the 50 best restaurants in Austria and has one of the best-stocked wine cellars in the country MUST be rebuilt true to the original. Every detail is unique and comes from famous designers or is an Art Nouveau original. The guests are invited to feel comfortable in the world of Gustav Klimt, Otto Wagner, Koloman Moser and Josef Hoffmann, to relax and above all to be seduced by culinary delights.
Convince yourself of the unique flair of this historic house.
